The facial mask provides us with an extra dose of nutrients for our skin, since we can apply ingredients that we could not use as a lotion.

On the other hand, when we have them on the skin for a few minutes, they penetrate through the pores of the dermis during that time that we also dedicate ourselves to relax. Toners and moisturizing creams or lotions help us keep the skin in good condition.

However, the weekly facial mask allows us to balance any disorder our skin suffers, since its effects are more profound. For this reason, the most important thing is to know what our skin type is in order to apply the appropriate mask.

What is your type of skin?

If you still do not know, we will teach you to find out what your skin type is, as well as the most suitable facial mask.

Dry Skin

People who have excessively dry skin, that is, who tend to have a dull and inelastic complexion,  are prone to expression marks and wrinkles.

For this reason, masks made with very nutritious ingredients should be applied:

  • Olive oil: Rich in essential fatty acids that deeply nourish.
  • Egg yolk: Source of healthy fats that leave the skin soft and firm.

Oily skin

Oily skin needs nutrients, just like any skin type, but they must be oil-free ingredients that hydrate the dermis without leaving shine.

We need those that are water-based so that they leave the skin soft, matte and smooth:

  • Oatmeal: Cooking oatmeal is excellent for hydrating and soothing the skin without making it greasy.
  • Egg white: Egg white provides many nutrients and has a natural lifting  effect  to firm up our skin.

Mixed skin

Combination skin combines oily areas (chin, nose and forehead) with dry areas (cheeks and neck).

That is why it needs moisturizing ingredients, but not too greasy, that balance the sebum of the skin and help us prevent shine, dryness, impurities, etc.

  • Ripe Banana – Banana is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Nourishes the skin, calms irritations and helps prevent blemishes. We must use a well-ripened and mashed banana.
  • Extra virgin coconut oil: coconut oil cannot be missing from any homemade cosmetic.

In addition, if we use it regularly, it regulates the sebum of the skin and prevents impurities.

    Sensitive skin

Irritated and sensitive skins always need natural and not very aggressive ingredients that provide nutrients to the skin so that it has its own natural defenses.

    • Egg yolk: the raw egg yolk provides essential fatty acids to our skin and nourishes it without greasing it, in addition to giving it great softness.
    • Brewer’s yeast: by adding brewer’s yeast to our mask we multiply its vitamin and mineral content, since this supplement is ideal for all types of skin, hair and nail problems.

    Mature skin

To avoid wrinkles and sagging in mature skin we will use very nutritious and antioxidant ingredients:

    • Avocado: excellent fruit that provides vitamins, minerals and fatty acids.
    • Grapes: crushed grapes together with the peel and the seed are a very powerful source of antioxidants, thanks to their high content of resveratrol.

    Acne skin

To treat acne skin we must be very careful not to choose ingredients with a high fat content:

    • Honey: Honey works as a natural antibiotic to mitigate acne infection and improve healing so that they do not leave visible marks. It must be good quality honey.
    • Yogurt: yogurt soothes and hydrates the skin without making it greasy, in addition to toning and firming it.
