With this you will avoid, for example, pouring polluting elements into the drain, but you will also be taking care of your family. Ingredients and concentrated formulas cause, for example, intoxication, allergic reactions, eczema, dermatitis, hypersensitivity, among other problems.

Basic ingredients clean the house naturally

Essential oils

There is no doubt that aromatherapy has many different applications; home hygiene is one of them. Each of the essential oils that you can get in naturopathic homes have a different application, property and virtue.

However, the two that are recommended for cleaning the house are tea tree and lavender. The first because it acts as a powerful disinfectant, perfect for use in the bathroom or kitchen. The second, in addition to cleaning, leaves a more than pleasant aroma. Use it for clothing, curtains, rugs, or furniture.

Neutral soap

White soap is the most suitable for, for example, washing clothes. Homemade liquid soap made from old soap flakes can also be used. For the washing machine, we simply grate a neutral soap and that’s it.

Lemon

It is an element that cannot be missing in your kitchen, but neither in your arsenal of ecological cleaning products. Leaves a great aroma throughout the house and, in turn, is a perfect disinfectant and stain remover.

Lemon can polish metals (eg, sink taps) or can be sprayed onto a furniture cloth. Feel free to use lemon juice when cleaning your house.

Sodium bicarbonate

It is another of the essentials in the home, because it has a thousand and one applications. It is an excellent cleaner, it is used to whiten clothes, to disinfect the bathroom and it is slightly abrasive. It also acts as a natural replacement for the detergent used in the dishwasher.

Cleaning house with baking soda

White vinegar

It is the third of the elements that cannot be missing if we want to clean the house naturally (along with lemon and bicarbonate). Vinegar removes grease, disinfects, removes stubborn dirt, descales, mops floors and softens fabrics.

On the other hand, there are those who indicate that vinegar is good for removing “bad energy” from the house. Although its smell is quite strong, you can hide it using an essential oil, for example,  or you can open the windows wide.

Homemade Cleaner Recipes

To clean the floors

First, mix three tablespoons of baking soda in a container with two liters of hot water. Then add half a cup of vinegar and two teaspoons of pine essential oil. This perfect combination disinfects thoroughly.

If you also want to clean, for example, the bathroom tiles, you can change the pine oil for citronella and lavender oil (one teaspoon of each). To use as an all-purpose cleaner, you can make a smaller amount and store in a container in a cool, dark place for up to three months.

To clean the windows

Instead of buying a specific cleaner for glass and glass (with chemical products), use two elements that you will surely have at home: water and newspaper. You simply have to wet the sheet and scrub. Afterwards, it remains to dry with another sheet.

If the glass is too stained, use a mixture of water and baking soda. Lastly, clean with the wet newspaper technique.

There are different ways to clean window glass.

To wash the dishes

If you wash the dishes by hand, you can make a mixture with three tablespoons of grated white soap in three liters of water, half a cup of white vinegar and the juice of one lemon. On the other hand, if you use a dishwasher, add three tablespoons of grated neutral soap directly and fill the container with vinegar.

Soap can be supplanted by baking soda. To remove food stuck in the pots, soak in water overnight, remove the water, and scrub with a little sand and a clean cloth. Be careful because this recipe is not suitable for elements with Teflon.

To clean the kitchen

If you want your kitchen to be really shiny, you can make a mixture with a liter of hot water, two tablespoons of grated neutral soap, a tablespoon of baking soda, a splash of white vinegar and the zest of a lemon (or the juice of Half lemon). Clean the counter or kitchen with this preparation, which can also be used to remove grease from tiles and floors.

To shine wooden furniture

They are usually the most delicate when cleaning and keeping them in good condition. To achieve this, mix a few drops of lemon oil in half a liter of oil (it can be corn, sunflower or olive for example).

Then moisten a soft cloth with a little of the preparation and rub the wood with it. Lemon oil will give it a really nice scent and will disinfect the material.

To scent the house

Finally, we tell you that instead of using aerosols that damage the environment you can remove bad odors throughout the home by lighting an incense or a candle. Other options are to place an aromatic plant in any environment, such as mint, rosemary, lavender, lemon balm or thyme or prepare your own flavoring.

If you opt for the latter, you should add 15 drops of essential oil (whichever you prefer) in a bottle with water and spray. Another interesting option is to leave jasmine flowers in a container with water, you will see that it aromatizes the environment in a very short time.
